OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) - Oakland school officials have suspended two security officers accused of beating a high-school student.

Oakland Schools Superintendent Antwan Wilson made the case public Friday after reviewing videotape of the alleged beating. The incident occurred in January.

The video shows a security officer at Oakland’s Fremont High School shoving a male student without apparent physical provocation. Two security officers then place the minor in a choke hold. Officials say the guards also punched the boy.

The San Jose Mercury News says the two guards have been suspended with pay (https://bayareane.ws/1Gbqfqg).

Oakland police on Saturday said no one was available to comment on any possible criminal investigation.
