WELLSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - A June 16 trial has been tentatively scheduled for a 16-year-old Windsor Heights girl charged with killing her father.

The Weirton Daily Times reports (https://bit.ly/1DVNcLQ ) that Shannon Marie Bartz appeared Friday for a status hearing in Wellsburg. Along with the tentative trial date, 1st Judicial Circuit Court Judge Ronald Wilson set deadlines for several other matters, including a psychological evaluation.

Bartz was indicted in November on a charge of murdering her father, 56-year-old Donald Bartz. The teenager allegedly struck her father repeatedly in the face with the butt of a shotgun.

According to court records, the May 19 incident stemmed from a dispute over the teen’s boyfriend.
