DELAND, Fla. (AP) - Thousands of motorcycles lined the streets of downtown DeLand in a celebration of Daytona Bike Week’s opening weekend.

Dayton Beach News-Journal (https://bit.ly/1Hh9ATC ) reports that crowds of bikers have gathered in areas from downtown Daytona Beach to Ormond Beach.

Streets in DeLand were closed on Saturday and up to 20,000 were expected for a bike show, rally and other events.

Some bikers say DeLand provides a change of pace from the Daytona Beach events, with different scenery and family friendly atmosphere.
