EVERETT, Mass. (AP) - Authorities are investigating what happened to an 18-year-old girl found unconscious outdoors in freezing temperatures, apparently after leaving a party.
Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan said the teen was found unresponsive in the driveway of a home in Everett at 6:45 a.m. Saturday. Ryan said Sunday she is in “extremely critical” condition at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Ryan said it appears the teen had been at a nearby party where people were drinking Friday night, and may have been assaulted. Ryan and Everett Police Chief Steven Mazzie said police are investigating the circumstances.
Jeff D’Amico, tells WCVB-TV his niece found the girl in his family’s driveway and screamed. D’Amico said he and other family members had never seen the girl before and feared she was dead. He said the discovery was “very emotional.”
