DETROIT (AP) - Former U.S. Sen. Carl Levin will join a Detroit law firm as senior counsel and advise businesses on government investigations.
Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP announced Monday the 80-year-old Michigan Democrat plans to take the post in April. The focus of Levin’s work will “include aiding corporations with internal investigations and crisis management; assisting corporations with social responsibility and compliance issues; and facilitating alternative dispute resolutions and mediations.”
Levin also will serve as an adviser to the firm’s Government Relations and Regulatory Practice Group.
In a statement, Levin says he and the firm “have many shared values, from our long-standing support of Detroit to our dedication to assisting Michigan businesses.”
Levin led investigations into major companies as a senator. He declined to seek re-election after 36 years in Washington.
