WATERTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a man was killed when a fire swept through a northern New York home over the weekend.

Fire officials in the city of Watertown tell local media that the fire was reported shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday at a home on Morrison Street by a neighbor who saw smoke coming from the roof.

Officials say firefighters got in to the home and found a man dead inside. The cause of death isn’t known yet. The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

Fire department official say the blaze began in the living room, but its origin remains under investigation.
