PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police say two men were arrested during at-times tense protests Thursday over Freddie Gray’s death in Baltimore and others in encounters with police.

A police spokeswoman said Friday the two were released after their arrests for disorderly conduct.

Several hundred gathered at City Hall and marched to protest Gray’s death from injuries suffered while in Baltimore police custody and to express concerns about police and community relations.

Police formed a line blocking access to a street. When protesters rushed the police line, police held them off for a few minutes but then relented and let them proceed.

Objects were thrown at police officers, who struck back with batons.

The event followed days of unrest in Baltimore after Gray’s death from a spinal injury.
