ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 24-year-old man who witnesses say fired shots and smashed a window is under arrest in Anchorage after a two-hour standoff with police and a SWAT team.

The Alaska Dispatch News reports (https://bit.ly/1FC9AyY) police were called Thursday to what spokeswoman Renee Oistad says was a “male-female altercation.”

Brandon Kendrick was arrested Thursday night on charges of criminal mischief and tampering with official proceedings.

Police say the woman had fired off a BB gun round, followed by Kendrick trying to get back inside after the woman locked him out.

Police say officers asked the pair to leave and the woman walked out first.

Police say Kendrick came outside and was taken into custody less than an hour later after a police negotiator made contact with him.

No injuries were reported.
