YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a former Yonkers school district supervisor and a school bus company owner face charges in a scheme involving $280,000 in bogus transportation bills.

The Journal News says (https://lohud.us/1zjeuzP ) Anna Sollozzo and William Ahern were charged Thursday.

Authorities say Ahern’s bus company had $2.8 million in contracts with the Yonkers School District from September 2012 to February 2014. Investigators say that during that time he billed the district for services that weren’t provided.

Authorities say Sollozzo, a supervisor for the Yonkers Board of Education’s Transportation Department, approved Ahern’s phony invoices, knowing they were bogus. Ahern’s company allegedly made more than $100,000 in payments to her personal bank accounts.

It’s unclear if they had attorneys who could comment on the charges.
