CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) - Two Camden County police officers had to break a window to rescue a 5-month-old who was left alone in a car.

The officers found the girl screaming loudly and sweating profusely inside the vehicle in a parking lot on Thursday.

The officers broke the front driver’s side window to free the baby. She was taken to a hospital before she was given to state child welfare officials.

The baby’s mother, 30-year-old Deonna Moore of Winslow Township, was charged with child endangerment and having four outstanding warrants. She’s held in the Camden County Jail on $50,000 bail.

It is not known if she has a lawyer.
