EPSOM, N.H. (AP) - The electricity is back on at a foreclosed campground in Epsom.

The Concord Monitor reports (https://bit.ly/1IuSUKN) that more than a dozen families have been living at the Circle 9 Ranch Campground since October, when a sale of the property fell through. The bank that took over had the power cut off on Tuesday, but a court made an emergency ruling to restore electricity on Thursday.

Elliott Barry, an attorney with New Hampshire Legal Assistance, says the campers are considered “tenants of sufferance” - one step up from trespassers - but the state’s courts have said it’s illegal to cut off electricity in such situations.
