PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - An inmate who escaped from an Oregon prison last weekend has been charged with sex crimes involving an underage girl.

Court documents filed in Medford show 39-year-old Daniel Oliver Fullmer was indicted Wednesday on charges of sodomy, sexual abuse and third-degree rape.

Police say he had sex in September 2013 with a girl who was younger than 16, and the case was in the works well before the April 26 escape from a minimum-security prison in North Bend.

The Oregon Department of Corrections says Fullmer and another man were discovered missing when they did not check in for scheduled medical appointments. They were captured separately on Monday.

Fullmer has been in prison since October after being convicted of meth possession and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in Jackson County.
