BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A jury has found a Bismarck man guilty of hitting a 15-year-old girl after she asked him for a ride to school in October.

The Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/1GLjPzZ ) reports Jason Christopher Burns was found guilty Tuesday of child abuse at the end of a one-day trial in South Central District Court.

He faces up to five years in prison. A sentencing date hasn’t been scheduled yet.

Burns was accused of repeatedly striking the teenager with his hands and a belt after she woke him up to ask for a lift to school. Bismarck police say the girl had bruises and marks on her body.
