THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - Less than three weeks after voting to reduce the auditor position to a part-time job, the Lafourche Parish Council has repealed its decision.

The Daily Comet reports (https://bit.ly/1c2Gr4T ) the council voted 5-2 this week to rescind the previous resolution and restore Legislative Auditor Tommy Lasseigne’s position to a full-time job. The council had voted 5-3 on April 14 to make the position part-time.

Councilman Jerry Jones, who voted with the majority both times, says he supports the position being full-time as long as Lasseigne works from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.

Budget documents show Lasseigne is set to make $69,850 in 2015, up from $66,524 the year before. He reports to the council.
