LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say a man has been stabbed at Los Angeles International Airport and his attacker is in custody.

Officer Alicia Hernandez with airport police says the victim was hospitalized in stable condition with multiple stab wounds early Friday.

Hernandez says the attack occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the upper level outside Terminal 3.

Investigators are trying to determine what led to the stabbing.

The victim had just arrived at the airport, where he was picking up his brother.

The suspect, 33-year-old Danny Lee Thomas, was arrested outside Terminal 2 on suspicion of attempted murder. Hernandez says Thomas, a resident of Hollywood, was not a passenger, but she did not have additional details.

Airport operations were not affected.
