COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - The Ohio House has honored a 28-year veteran of the state corrections agency as its warden of the year.

The resolution was presented to Ernie Moore, current warden at Lebanon Correctional Institution in southwest Ohio, where he also served in 2004.

The Department of Rehabilitation and Correction says Moore has brought down use-of-force incidents at the prison, reduced the use of segregation and created a merit system for inmates.

The 53-year-old Moore also added merit programs for staff, renovated various officer and inmate areas, added a staff training room and developed a second recreation yard.

The resolution was presented Wednesday by state Rep. Ron Maag (mag), a Lebanon Republican, and House Speaker Clifford Rosenberger, a Clarksville Republican.
