RYE BROOK, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a fire apparently started by a candle set off some old munitions at a suburban New York City home.

Police say the fire at the Rye Brook house was reported at 5:46 a.m. Friday and was under control by 6:26 a.m.

They say the fire started on the second story and spread throughout the floor of the Edgewood Drive home.

Police say the property was condemned several months ago but that the owner occasionally used it.

The 24-year-old woman was in the house when the fire started but escaped without injuries.
