PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A private university in Philadelphia has suspended its women’s varsity softball team following an internal investigation into hazing allegations.

The Philadelphia Inquirer said Friday (https://bit.ly/1Q8ADFe) that St. Joseph’s University made the decision after looking into claims team members had been hazing or bullying younger players.

Officials suspended the entire team with three games left in the season, citing violations of campus community standards.

The school isn’t commenting on violations or punishment regarding any particular athletes.

It’s unclear if the team would have made it to the postseason.
