PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - A Lake Oswego burglar who was caught because of her love of coffee was sentenced to 5 years in prison.

The Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/1GNfaAd ) that Megan Elizabeth Kyte was sentenced Thursday for burglarizing homes in West Linn and Lake Oswego.

Prosecutors say she would enter houses through unlocked doors or open windows and take cash and credit cards before heading off to the Starbucks.

She was arrested in October after police put out a wanted poster with an image from store surveillance video. Police say she used stolen credit cards to buy coffee at Starbucks and Visa gift cards at Safeway.

Kyte had been scheduled for sentencing last week but she refused to leave her cell at the Clackamas County Jail.
