TROY, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say a child has been found dead after an apartment fire in western Ohio that injured a man.

Troy police say the boy believed to be about 2 years old was unaccounted for when emergency crews arrived around midnight Saturday. They say the boy’s body was found around 3:30 Sunday morning.

Troy police Capt. Joe Long has said efforts to enter the apartment were hampered by furniture propped against the door.

The injured man was taken to a hospital with burns. His condition wasn’t immediately known.

Police did not immediately release the identities of the boy or the man or whether or not they were related.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire. The twelve other residents in the apartment complex escaped without injury.
