BANGOR, Maine (AP) - Maine authorities are investigating after a body was recovered from the Penobscot River in Bangor, but police say there is no immediate indication of foul play.

Bangor police and fire responded shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday to a report that someone had fallen into the river. After searching overnight, Maine Marine Patrol recovered the body of an adult male early Sunday morning.

Authorities are waiting for the medical examiner’s office to confirm the man’s identity. Officials ask anyone who witnessed the incident to contact police.
