GLASTONBURY, Conn. (AP) - Police are investigating a body that was found in the Connecticut River on Saturday night.

Glastonbury police say they received a report of a body floating in the Connecticut river near the Glastonbury shore at around 7 p.m. They then recovered the body near Welles Street.

The body was sent to the medical examiner to find the cause of death.

Police have not released the identity of the victim and it is not yet known how the victim ended up in the water.

Police say they are considering the incident an untimely death.
