WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - State police say shots were fired during an armed robbery at a motel in the Wilmington area.

Police say on Saturday morning, an armed man entered an unlocked room at the Fairview Inn on South Market Street and demanded property from a 25-year-old woman inside. The woman turned over cash and other property to the man, who then fled.

Police say several witnesses chased the armed man, who fired several shots toward the people chasing him. No one was injured.

Police say the gunman fled in a vehicle driven by another man.

Police are searching for suspects and say they don’t have good descriptions of them.
