CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming State Election Director Peggy Nighswonger has been elected to the nine-member executive board of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission Standards Board.

The Standards Board consists of 110 members, including 55 state election officials and 55 local election officials. It implements voting system standards for election equipment used throughout the country.

Albany County Clerk Jackie Gonzales is Wyoming’s other representative on the 110-member body.

Nighswonger has served as Wyoming State Election Director since 1996.
