NEW YORK (AP) - Police say three people were robbed in two separate attacks in Central Park over the weekend.

The first attack occurred Saturday night while a 20-year-old man and 17-year-old girl were sitting in a playground.

Police say a group of young men approached and threatened them with a knife and what appeared to be a taser.

The girl was punched in the face. The thieves took off with their cellphones.

Hours later a 45-year-old man was choked and robbed in an unrelated attack as he walked in the park.

Police say the man was grabbed from behind at about 1 a.m. Sunday. The suspect robbed him at gunpoint and made off with his wallet and backpack.

No arrests have been made in either incident.

The victims weren’t seriously injured.
