PIPESTEM, W.Va. (AP) - Pipestem Resort State Park is offering certification classes for summer lifeguards this week.

The three-day training course starts on Friday at the southern West Virginia resort’s indoor pool.

Resort recreation supervisor Steve Robertson says those who complete the course will become certified as lifeguards as well as in the use of first aid, CPR and automated external defibrillators.

The course costs $200 per person and overnight accommodations at the resort are available.
