SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (AP) - The Michigan Department of Transportation is surveying travelers who use the bridge linking the U.S. and Canada in the Upper Peninsula.

The survey on travel habits is set to take place Tuesday and Wednesday at the Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge. Transportation department staff will be at toll plazas to ask drivers if they’d like to take part in the survey.

Drivers who agree to the survey would pull off to the side to answer six questions about the origin, destination and purpose of their travels.

The Evening News of Sault Ste. Marie (https://bit.ly/1PdbqfS ) reports similar studies took place in 2001 and 2009.
