FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - More than two dozen fallen Kentucky State Police officers are being honored Monday during National Police Week.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. EDT Monday at the Kentucky State Police Professional Association in Frankfort. The service will honor the 28 state police officers who have died in the line of duty and add the name of Trooper Anson Blake Tribby, who died on Jan. 22, 2013, to the association’s honor roll.

At 2 p.m., a bronze statue created in tribute to the service of troopers and officers is being unveiled at the state police Training Academy in Frankfort.

The Trooper Project has been raising funds to pay for the statue, which is approximately 8 feet tall.
