ST. LOUIS (AP) - The sister of a woman shot by St. Louis police is disputing the officers’ account.

Jennifer Morgan-Tyra was shot by officers Friday night.

Police were responding to a report of an intruder in a home. Police say they encountered Morgan-Tyra with a gun and told her to drop it. They say she raised the weapon toward officers, who fired several times.

Becky Morgan of Cedar Hill told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1F1J9AZ ) that her sister is paralyzed. Morgan-Tyler is being treated at Saint Louis University Hospital. She is charged with second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and armed criminal action.

Morgan says her sister called police after encountering an intruder in the home, occupied by a disabled brother. She accused police of firing as Morgan-Tyra turned away.
