VIVIAN, La. (AP) - Caddo Parish sheriff’s deputies have arrested a teenager in the stabbing of his parents.

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator said in a news release that the 17-year-old was booked early Monday with attempted first-degree murder.

Prator says 61-year-old LaDonna Alexander was stabbed once in the chest. He says she drove herself to North Caddo Memorial Hospital in Vivian where she was treated and release.

Prator says 64-year-old Jerry Alexander was stabbed in the back and arm. He is being treated at University Health Center in Shreveport.

The sheriff says the teen was arrested without incident deputies arrived at the home about 3 a.m.

Online booking records did not list an attorney for the teen.
