SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Police are investigating the death of a woman found dead inside a vehicle submerged upside down in the Jordan River.

Deseret News reports (https://bit.ly/1JBMHuS ) that Salt Lake Police Lt. Eddie Cameron says the small, white SUV was discovered around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday by a man who regularly walks in the area. The site where the vehicle was found was not near a roadway.

Cameron says it appears that the vehicle was probably driving on the railroad tracks when it fell off the bridge into the river. He says he doesn’t suspect foul play, but it’s unclear why the woman was in the area.

Cameron says the bottom of the car was dry and a log had washed upon against it, indicating it had been there since at least Saturday.
