LEESBURG, Ga. (AP) - Georgia authorities say seven people have been arrested in Lee County after a father and his son were beaten during a fight and the father later died.

Multiple news outlets report 50-year-old Kent Griffin Adam and his 22-year-old son, James Calvin Adam, were assaulted during a fight at their home near Leesburg Sunday. The suspects were invited to the home by James Adam and the men were seriously injured when the fight broke out. The men drove themselves to the hospital, but when they returned home, Kent Adam became unresponsive and died. An autopsy on Adam is pending.

Police arrested 19-year-old Aric William Lee Cates, 21-year-old Terry James Gravett Jr., 20-year-old Alexandrea Marie Cates and four juveniles.

The GBI and Lee County Sheriff’s office continue to investigate the incident.
