BELVA, W.Va. (AP) - A logging truck overturned and crushed a man to death on his motorcycle outside of a Fayette County gas station.

The Charleston Daily Mail (https://bit.ly/1F3JEL2 ) reports 62-year-old Philip Jenkins was killed Monday morning in Belva. Fayette County sheriff’s deputies say Jenkins and 38-year-old truck driver Gregory Harper were traveling north on State Route 16/39 when Jenkins trying to turn left into the gas station. Harper then apparently tried to swerve right to avoid Jenkins, but lost control and overturned.

Sheriff Steve Kessler says it doesn’t appear drugs or alcohol were factors in connection with the accident. The sheriff’s office will do an investigation to determine if criminal charges are warranted.
