FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A Fayetteville man has been arrested on suspicion of lighting a fire in his bedroom.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/1bLUqee ) reports a 56-year-old man was arrested Sunday night and faces felony charges of arson and possession of drug paraphernalia.

When police arrived at the suspect’s apartment complex, he was standing calmly in the parking lot with a group of people. Police say he later admitted to trying to burn down his apartment.

The fire was extinguished and a neighbor who tried to put it out was taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation.

When authorities searched the suspect’s apartment, they found a syringe and glass pipe used to ingest methamphetamine.

The suspect is being held at the Washington County Detention Center with no bond set.
