LOWELL, Mass. (AP) - A Lowell man accused of dealing drugs out of his car with his 6-year-old son in tow has appeared in court.

Authorities say 29-year-old Ariel Rafael Pena was arraigned on Monday in Lowell District Court on drug charges.

Police arrested Pena on Sunday after officers say they saw him dealing drugs out of his car. Police say Pena’s 6-year-old son was in the car at the time.

The child has been turned over to relatives.

Authorities say Pena already has an open and active case in Middlesex County in which he faces charges including assault and battery.

The judge on Monday revoked his bail in the previous case, and set his bail in the new case at $15,000 cash.

It’s unclear if Pena has an attorney.
