RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - A former staffer for Gov. Bob McDonell has joined a super PAC to support Republican presidential hopeful Chris Christie in his 2016 bid.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch (https://bit.ly/1Evj36Z ) reports Tucker Martin will be a part of America Leads, a PAC allies launched for Christie. Martin, the former communications director for McDonell, says he will support the PAC as an adviser for strategy and communication.

Martin says he will work from Richmond and expects to travel often to early caucus and primary states like Iowa and New Hampshire.

Christie will be in McLean Thursday for a fundraiser in support of another super PAC, Leadership Matters for America, a group he formed in January to support another super PAC he created in January to support travel and building of a campaign apparatus.
