CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - State police say four soldiers were injured when their Humvee overturned following an accident on the New Jersey Turnpike.

The crash occurred late Friday in the southbound lanes near exit 7A in Chesterfield Township.

Authorities say it appears that a car changed lanes and clipped the back of the Humvee, which was at the end of a military convoy.

The Humvee went off the side of the road and overturned in the grass. Its driver, a 35-year-old man from Fort Drum in New York, was ejected and suffered serious internal and spinal injuries.

Three passengers in the Humvee suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The driver of the car and a passenger both suffered minor injuries.

No charges have been filed in the crash, though the investigation is ongoing.
