ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Police in Albuquerque are searching for a man and woman who allegedly drove off in a stolen car with the owner’s service dog inside.

Police spokesman Daren DeAguero says the vehicle’s owner left the car running while going into a Wal-Mart on Friday afternoon.

The owner told police he left the car idle since his golden retriever was inside.

When he came out of the store, the vehicle was nowhere to be seen.

DeAguero says surveillance video shows a man and woman walking around the car before the woman unlocks it. The woman then proceeds to get into the vehicle and drive off.

The car is described as a 2000 silver Ford Expedition.

The owner says the dog, Max, has been training to be a service dog.
