CHICAGO (AP) - A Chicago dog breeder says several masked men have stolen three of his pit bulls at gunpoint.

Julio Nieves of the Logan Square neighborhood on the city’s Northwest Side says he was working in his garage Thursday when three men wearing masks approached.

He says one of them put a gun to his head and ordered him not to move as the others grabbed the pit bulls from the backyard kennel.

The men took the kennel’s most valuable dogs. Each of the pit bulls is worth about $15,000. Two of them are considered even more valuable because they are pregnant.

Nieves was not hurt.

Police are investigating.
