LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Dry conditions have allowed U.S. Forest Service officials to open southern roads on Pole Mountain, between Cheyenne and Laramie.

The agency had closed routes on the Medicine Bow National Forest between Cheyenne and Laramie over the past couple of weeks.

Opened routes include Forest Roads 700, 705 and 707. Most spurs off of these roads will also reopen but some areas are still closed pending further drying and road repairs.

Roads on the north side of the Happy Jack Highway remain closed and are being evaluated by agency specialists. Hiking, bicycling, hunting, skiing and rock climbing is still allowed.
