BERWICK, Maine (AP) - Officials say no one was hurt in an apartment building fire in the southern Maine town of Berwick.

The fire broke out in a second-floor apartment late Saturday morning. The family who lives there were not home at the time.

Other tenants made it out of the building safely.

Firefighters were able to control and extinguish the fire quickly.

The Portsmouth Herald reports that two apartments were deemed uninhabitable after the fire. The Red Cross was contacted to help the two families find housing.
