WARREN, Ohio (AP) - A judge in northeast Ohio plans a hearing in June to determine if a 15-year-old boy should be tried as an adult in the beating death of a 94-year-old neighbor in March.

Trumbull County Judge Sandra Stabile Harwood set the closed hearing for June 8 after questioning the boy at length Thursday to make sure he understood his rights.

The teen is accused of killing 94-year-old Marie Belcastro in Niles on March 31. Another neighbor’s security camera captured the boy coming from Belcastro’s house.

The teen is charged with aggravated murder. He is ineligible for the death penalty because of his age.
