CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A finalist from “American Idol” is taking part in a music series showcasing an historic Charleston venue.

Elise Testone performs Saturday for a taping of “Live at the Charleston Music Hall.”

The show is part of a series being produced by Mark Bryan, of Hootie & the Blowfish fame, through his Chucktown Music Group. It will later air nationally on public television.

Testone was an “Idol” finalist in Season 11. Another episode featuring Stop Light Observations, a homegrown band popular with South by Southwest and Bonnaroo audiences, is also being recorded.

Bryan’s series has also featured performances by Edwin McCain and Sam Bush.

The Music Hall was a passenger station built in the mid-19th Century. For the past 20 years it has been a performance venue.
