STATESVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities say a woman stole nearly $9,000 to pay her boyfriend’s bond on his own larceny charge.

Investigators say they are now both in jail.

Iredell County deputies told media outlets that 20-year-old Sydney Bowman was arrested Thursday.

Investigators say Bowman and her boyfriend, 21-year-old Kyler Roland were involved two weeks ago in a chase with Troutman Police. Roland was put in jail on previous larceny and breaking and entering charges.

Authorities say Roland and Bowman knew where to find a large amount of cash, and Bowman broke into a business and took the money to pay her boyfriend’s bond. Investigators quickly determined where the money came from and took them both to jail, where they remain.

It wasn’t known if Bowman or Rowland had lawyers.
