CINCINNATI (AP) - A man accused of the fatal daytime shooting of a man on a Cincinnati sidewalk is being held in jail with bail set at $1 million.

Court documents show that the bail for 28-year-old Darnell Higgins was set Saturday in a Hamilton County court. Cincinnati police say Higgins was arrested Friday on an aggravated murder charge in the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Gregory Douglas.

A message seeking comment was left at Higgins’ attorney’s office on Sunday.

Police say the Cincinnati man shot Douglas around 9 a.m. on Wednesday in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood north of downtown. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Cincinnati’s city manager says police believe it was a “targeted shooting.” He has said that type of shooting is unusual at that location and that time of day.
