BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - An architectural historian plans on teaching North Dakota homeowners how to find the history of their own property.

Lorna Meidinger will lead the workshop “Finding Your Home’s History” in celebration of Historic Preservation Month.

During the event, Meidinger will formally recognize all of the North Dakota properties listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. She will then explain where the history used in those historic places nominations came from and where homeowners can go to find their property’s history.

The State Historic Preservation Office and the North Dakota Archaeology Association are sponsoring the May 23 event. The free presentation is scheduled to begin at 9:45 a.m. at the North Dakota Heritage Center.
