AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the stabbing of a man at a hotel in Augusta.

Richmond County sheriff’s Sgt. Glen Rahn says deputies were called to America’s Best Value Inn on Deans Bridge Road around 12:50 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities say the victim told police he was in his room when he heard a knock at the door, and two unknown males rushed in when he opened it.

Authorities say the victim was stabbed once in the chest and once in the shoulder. The Augusta Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1I7WfAr) that he was taken to Georgia Regents Medical Center to be treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
