TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Tulsa police say a man ignited an apartment and threatened a firefighter with a knife before fleeing to the roof of the complex in a failed escape attempt.

Police arrested the 29-year-old man Sunday morning after an officer and a K-9 unit convinced him to come down from the roof. Authorities say the man had set fire to a mattress, clothes and other items inside of an apartment and threatened to cut the firefighter who responded.

The suspect was booked into the Tulsa County Jail Sunday. He faces six felony charges including arson and assault with a deadly weapon.

Police say the man suffered small burns on his arms. No other injuries were reported.
