CHELSEA, Mass. (AP) - Two young boys have been injured when a tree toppled on them in a Boston-area park.

Witnesses said they heard cracking just before the tree fell around 7 p.m. Monday at Washington Park in Chelsea. Surveillance video captured the incident.

Polices said the boys, ages 2 and 8, were taken to the hospital , one with a possible skull fracture. Officials closed the park to inspect other trees.

Evelyn Mancia told WCVB-TV Tuesday that her 2-year-old brother David Mancia has a cracked skull and an injured ear, but is expected to be OK. She said he is at Boston Children’s Hospital with other family.

Eight-year-old Diego Ruiz told WCVB his head was bleeding after he was struck. He and his mother, Angeliqua Ruiz, said they were headed back to the hospital for more tests.
