SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - An 18-year-old man is facing four counts of aggravated assault for allegedly firing several rounds from a handgun near downtown Sioux Falls early Tuesday.

Sioux Falls police say a party spilled outside a little before 5 p.m. on the 700 block of 2nd Avenue. It there they believe the 18-year-old man fired several shots near another man and woman following an argument.

Police say the one of the victims tried to wrestle the gun away from the shooter, but was hit repeatedly with the weapon.

The man with the gun eventually ran away.

After investigating, police found the man with the gun near 9th Street and Lake Avenue late Tuesday afternoon. He arrested and brought to the Minnehaha County Jail.

It’s unclear whether he’s been formally charged.
